Tuanzebe opts to leave Villa for lack of games.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with the Italian side S.S.C. Napoli for a loan deal for Axel Tuanzebe. This is according to reports from world-renowned journalist @FabrizioRomano and @m_christenson on their social media platforms. Napoli will pay a loan fee of £500k until June 2022 with the move subject to medical in Italy.

This agreement brings to an end Tuanzebe's spell at Aston Villa. Axel rejoined Aston Villa at the beginning of the season on a loan deal till the end of the season.

The Manchester United academy graduate made just 11 appearances for Villa in the first half of the season - 9 in the Premier League and 2 in the EFL Cup. His last appearance was on 14 December 2021 after coming in as a substitute to play the last two minutes against Norwich City.

The English CB was a regular under former boss Dean Smith but has looked like an isolated figure since Steven Gerrard arrived at the Villa dugout.

This lack of game time at Villa and also the opportunity to play for a top side in Napoli must have led Tuanzebe to weigh his options.

Napoli will be a great experience for him. Hopefully, he works even harder and gets a fair share of regular football under Luciano Spalletti.
