A sea of black of white descended upon the streets of Villar Perosa on Sunday morning as Juventus fans flocked to the streets in their thousands in anticipation of catching their first glimpse of Cristiano Ronaldo in action.

The Portuguese star, who signed from Real Madrid in a £100million deal earlier in the summer, is due to make his first appearance for Juventus against their U19 side on Sunday afternoon.

The buzz and excitement of watching their new man in action made for an electric atmosphere as the Juventus supporters chanted and danced in the streets ahead of kick-off.

Some were carrying cardboard cutouts of their new hero Ronaldo as they made their way towards the ground while one fan even got 'CR7' shaved into the back of his head.

The friendly, which takes place every year, represents Juventus' final test before they kick-off their Serie A title defence against Chievo next Saturday.

Massimiliano Allegri will be looking to make the most of the occasion as he takes one final look at his players ahead of the new season, but all eyes in the stands will be on one man.

Ronaldo has a real admiration for the Juventus fans ever since they gave him a standing ovation after he scored a stunning overhead kick goal against them for Real Madrid in last season's Champions League.

The 33-year-old, who has already established a real connection with them since joining, revealed they were a huge influence on him moving from Madrid.

'I felt surprised at the beginning. I am used to following Juve and I like the club, but since that moment I liked them even more,' Ronaldo said in an interview with JuventusTV.

'I won't say it was the key point in my decision, but every detail helps. Maybe. Of course, it helps when you see the people like you, the supporters and club like you, the feeling is completely different.

'Unbelievable. I remember every day, that never happened to me before. In the Champions League against Juve, a quarter-final, you score a goal and see everyone in the stadium applaud you. It was an unbelievable feeling.'
