Ederson of Man. City

Clean sheets as been a major factor for deciding who the best keeper his though I personally believe that Clean sheet is a team effort while the Goalie should be rated per clinical clearance and tactical saves as a goalie might be spectacular but if his defense isn't good enough than he can't be rated high because of the cheap flaws caused by the defenders.

This season, Sam Johnstone and Darlow has more Saves but Mendy, Martinez and Ederson have more clean sheets thereby Ederson, Martinez and Mendy be rated better than the duo.

Martinez of Aston Villa

I remember during the days of Jaaskelainen of Bolton wanderers, he barely concede a direct ball except for deflections or rebounds but because his defenders weren't clinical enough to clear the lines so he hardly received the accolades he deserves even when we all knew clearly that he was better than his rating.

Ederson of Man city's name won't be mentioned when Saves is the Point of discuss as he has 32 saves while Johnstone has 80 saves already, yet Ederson won Goalie of the week without special saves but clean sheet that is a joint effort with the other players.

I believe this perception used in judging a Goalie should be reconsidered
