Daniel Akpeyi

He kept a clean sheet for the 45 minutes he was on the pitch. He exuded confidence and not the nerves he had displayed in previous outings with the Eagles.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa

The Katsina United shot stopper pulled off three big saves late in this game when he came on for Akpeyi. He was one of the reasons for this morale-boosting win against the host nation for the next AFCON.Shehu Abdullahi

He was lively to prove he has fully recovered from a long-term injury. No one is now raising concerns about the right fullback position to underline how much has progressed.

Jamilu Collins

He did not reach the standards he displayed against Seychelles on Friday but he did enough to get by as he continues to pin down the leftback role of the Super Eagles.

8 William Ekong

The captain on the day was solid and commanding in the heart of the back four. He was the leader on the park not just because he wore the skipper’s armband.

Leon Balogun

He did not show any match rustiness after recovering from injury that has sidelined him since December.

Wilfred Ndidi

A few stray passes which almost caused some bother back in the Eagles defence. He was again a reliable screen for the defence.

John Ogu

He got his first start in a long time but he did not do enough to show he could break into the starting XI going forward. He needs to do a lot more if he hopes to be at Egypt 2019.

Semi Ajayi

He came in and held his own in the middle of the park. He has gradually integrated to the national team and that is evident with his form at his English Championship club.

Henry Onyekuru

Not as incisive as he was against Seychelles. He will have to step up so as to be considered for a first team shirt.

Moses Simon

He was confident in his dribbles at the start but later faded as the match wore on.

Alex Iwobi

Certainly a huge improvement from the game versus the Seychelles, where he was off duty. He came close to doubling the Eagles lead in the second half but his toe-poke was saved by the goalkeeper.

Paul Onuachu MAN OF THE MATCH

The shining start of the night not just because of his quick-fire stunner but his overall play. On the strength of this performance, Rohr has finally found his big target man, who will be an option for Odion Ighalo. He was full of running, physically intimidating at 6 feet 7 and he technically superb for such a big man. The biggest highlight of this Eagles win.

Oghenekaro Etebo

He did stamp himself in this game. A subdued outing by the Stoke City midfielder after he replaced Iwobi.

Odion Ighalo, Ndifreke Effiong, Ikouwem Udoh – Not enough time to rate them.
