The North London side is said to have reportedly reached an agreement with Lille to sign the 24 year old Ivory Coast winger for a club record of 72 million Euros.

According to sources, Arsenal fought off with Napoli to pen a five-year deal subject to an agreement with Pepe's agent. Despite Arsenal's summer budget which is said to be 40 million Euros and having spent 27 million Euros to land William Saliba from Saint-Eteinne, this deal is said to be paid in instalments to fit Arsenal's summer buget. Well, if Arsenal can successfully pen the deal Nicolas Pepe will be their fourth signing of the summer and this would put an end to the bid for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.

The left footed winger was amazing last season, scoring 22 goals and 11 assists in Ligue 1 as Lille finished second behind Paris Saint-Germain. The highlights of Nicolas Pepe's season would be his goal and two assists in the 5-1 win over PSG in April and only Kylian Mbappe with 33 goals scored more than the Lille ace.

If the deal goes through, the forward will be Arsenal's most expensive player of all time, surpassing the 55 million Euros paid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2018.
