After the Champions League and Europa Cup qualifiers it is time again to focus on the Jupiler Pro League and the Premier League.
Matchday 5 already kicks off on friday evening with the game between KV Oostende and Zule Waregem.

KV Oostende

Did start the season with 2 wins and 2 losses but we also have to report that they do have a negative goal ratio (6 for, 9 against).
But both games were lost against one of the favorites for the title (Anderlecht) and against dark horse Genk. Both win games were against relegation candidates. So it isn't easy to estimate how good or bad Oostende is at the moment.

Zulte Waregem

Zulte Waregem currently stands on the 9the spot of the Jupiler pro League, with 5 points. So one win, 2 draws and one match lost. The goal ratio for Zulte is +2 (8 made, 6 conceded). The last game, also an away game, was lost against newcomer Cercle Brugge, which was quite a surprise to me.

Head 2 Head

In the last 3 seasons, they have faced each other 10 times in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. 5 of these confrontations did end in a draw!!! Zulte won 3 times and Oostende the remaining 2.
If we only look in the confrontation in Oostende, we also see that 60% of the games did end in a draw and both parties won one game.

Betting Markets

Over 2.5 goals

Only 40% of these games did result in an over 2.5, so probably that is a market to avoid. Only use this market when the odds are above 2.5, which probably no bookmaker will offer. Also this season neither of the teams had 2 games in which the score was an over 2.5!

Both teams to score

The Both teams to score stats indicate that in 80% of their confrontations both teams did find the net. To bad that the bookies also know this and offer odds of around 1.45 for this market. This is the same as The Nyls does expect as odds based on the results from the past 3 season.

1X2, DNB and Asian Handicap

These are the markets where we could find value enough to bet on.

If we take a look at Oostende to win, we do get odds between 3.22 and 3.25. Zulte has odds between and 2.25 and 2.26. The draw is round 3.5.

Oostende DNB still pays out 2.35. Oostende -1 even pays out above 6.

What does the Nyls says?

I will go for Oostende -1 with odds of 2.35! I do think that this the kind of bet that will be a winner on the long term. Zulte really got their ass kicked by Cercle Brugge and I do expect that Zulte again will not be capable of winning away from home.

Betting record: August

Good luck,
Peter
