I know we were already qualified!

Don't expect a review of the game, because our reserves were just too strong for the English reserves! I was hoping that England would equalize but they just didn't had the will or power to do so!
What a great goal of Januzai! Still I also would have been happy with the second place! But maybe better this way, and maybe getting eliminated by Brazil, than getting send home by Switzerland or Sweden!

Some background

I will have to give some back ground about this! Like you probably already know I do life in Belgium! In my town we do have many nationalities (it cannot get more multicultural than here) and during World and European cups, the town is decorated with national flags! This year there were only of course the Belgium flags, some Polish, Moroccan and Spanish flags! And believe it or not, even a Russian flag!

You have seen the pictures of my house before!

World or European Cup

So when a country plays and wins a game on a big tournament, people will come out of their houses and will celebrate! Streets are controlled by the police with forced one way traffic and then the party begins! There are two hot spots in my town! One is where most the Italian, Turks and Moroccan people life and the other one in the center of my town!

While it has to do something with teasing each other, there is always a very friendly atmosphere! Streets are really filled!

Celebration

And then this happens:

And when you think that you have seen it all, this appears!

Believe me, this goes on for more than an hour!

While I do like to go on my holiday I am going to miss this! This is a tradition and I will be curious how we will celebrate (if we may) in Greece! My wife did experience this for the first time this year, and she is amazed!
And yes, when I was younger I did the same! Even burned a fuse of my horn during one of these nights! :)

Do you have the same traditions in your country!

Cheers,
Peter
