In the early 1870's he started his career and 137 years ago he played for Scotland National Football Team. He's the known first African Origin Footballer: Andrew Watson.

He was born in 1856 British Guyana, father was Peter Miller who own a sugar plantation (a.k.a rich family) and mother was Guyanan Rose Watson. He studied at King's College and Glasgow University yet He decided to become a footballer at the age of 19.

In the early 1870's he started his career at Maxwell later played for Parkgrove and was manager at the same team. With this feature he is the first African Origin football club manager.

In 1880 he was chosen for Glasgow city team for the match between Sheffield city. He played for Scotland National Football Team three times first one at 12 March 1881.

Arthur Wharton is usually thought as the First African Origin Footballer yet Watson played football a decade ago. Watson played as Full Back.
