Yesterday's encounter between Liverpool and Brentford reminded me of Liverpool playing against Leeds in the last season where we saw both sides scoring a lot of goals, it made me concluded that there is always a newly promoted team that comes with this superb energy to the English Premier League.

Liverpool was shaken and the Brentford squad did play a great game against the Premier League giant, it would be the first time Jurgen Klopp's side conceded three goals in this season league campaign and it shows how the team can be slack.

The Brentford squad went into the game with high spirits due to their outstanding EFL performance where they scored seven goals, I thought the match would decide the cup winner. It looked like a waste of time scoring that much in a league cup but I got to understand that it was necessary for a side like Brentford because they are testing tactics and building their confidence which has been working for them in the league.

The result sent Liverpool to the top of the table with just 5 points difference between them and Brentford that sits in the 9th position.

It ended 3-3 at full and I enjoyed every bit of the match, Liverpool dominated the encounter but the home team took every chance they had seriously in the match. They were quick to attack and every team player joins the attack except for the striker who is standing by for a counter-attack.

Goal Summary

Pinnick got the opening goal for Brentford in the 27th minute of the match but the celebration didn't last very long as Diogo Jota got an equalizer just a few minutes after the home team took the lead.

It ended 1-1 at halftime.

The second half started brightly for both sides and goals started flying in as early as the 54th minute. It was Mohammed Salah who put his side in front for the first time in the match but Brentford was able to get back on the level again as Janelt got a goal 9 minutes after Salah's strike.

Curtis Jones put Liverpool in front again 4 minutes after Brentford equalizer and it looked like there wouldn't be goals again as both sides defended but Liverpool was on the rampage, they wanted more goals but none came in from both sides.

A substitute, Yoane Wissa got an equalizer for the home team and it looked like everything was over and yes, it really was over and both sides had to share points.
