Two days ago, Italian coach Claudio Ranieri's contract with Serie A club Sampdoria expired without work, however, Ranieri is not long, if one is to believe the two French media L'Équipe and France Football. Both media claim that Ranieri is approaching the vacant coaching seat of the defending French champions LOSC Lille.

Earlier in his coaching career, Ranieri has also been to France. In the period from 2012 to 2014, he was employed by AS Monaco, and most recently from 2017 to 2018, where he was in FC Nantes. Although it has not previously been trophies for Ranieri in France, the 69-year-old Italian coach has, among other things, won the English championship with Leicester City earlier in his career.

Lille's former coach Christophe Galtier already announced before Lille won the French championship that he would not continue at the club. Galtier is already in place in a new club, OGC Nice.
