José Mourinho since taken over the Roma team has been seriously working on getting the team in place by signing several players to boost the team, Throughout the summer, the Portuguese coach has been trying to bring in an extra player for the position, where the Italian capital club already has, among others, Amadou Diawara, Steven Nzonzi, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Jordan Veretout, Bryan Cristante and Gonzalo Villar.

Roma have tried to lure both Teun Koopmeiners and Granit Xhaka to the club. In both cases, however, they have not succeeded. Roma do not give up the hunt, and they are now looking for a way to get Torreira on a season long loan. Torreira wants a transfer away from Arsenal this summer. Last season, the central midfielder was not part of the plans of the Premier League club, and the Uruguayan was therefore sent to Spanish Atletico Madrid on loan.

Earlier this summer, Arsenal reportedly offered Torreira to two other Serie A clubs Napoli and Lazio. However, nothing has come out of the talks that the London club had with the two clubs. Torreira has been looking forward to move back to Seria A, this could be his only chance.
