The Blues are reportedly interested in picking up Derby County's 18-year-old talented young lad Max Bird, according to Football Inside. It is reported that Frank Lampard and his assistant are impressed with the impressive performance of the young gem this season. However, due to the ongoing pandemic crisis, its not certain if they can make an official bid for the player yet, but eventually a deal could be made.

Max Bird had so far featured in 18 matches for Derby this season and has established himself as a regular starter under the Dutch manager Phillip Cocu who seems to like how the midfielder helps in contributing greatly in the MF area.

When Frankie was manager of Derby last season, the young talent got eight first-team matches and now the Chelsea boss is reportedly interested in working with him again.

Derby are currently in 12th place in the English lower division (Championship), and are hoping to secure a top 5 finish, so as to participate in the top tier division next season. Although, its still under uncertainty if the gaffer can trust the young lad in his first team, but hopefully the young lad would convince.
