Matchday 23 of the English Premier League continues today with 4 more interesting games going down: Tottenham Hotspur taking on West Bromwish Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers hosting Leicester City, Liverpool battling it out against Manchester City, and Sheffield United welcoming Chelsea. You definitely do not want to miss any of these games, not even the one between Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwish Albion as most football lovers will want to see how Jose Mourinho will respond to his first back to back home loss in the Premier League since his first stinct with Chelsea in 2004.

Well, being a Chelsea fan, and considering how well my beloved team have improved under Thomas Tuchel, no disrespect to Frank Lampard, It was very difficult choosing a game between the one involving Sheffield and Chelsea, and Liverpool and Manchester City. However, there was no way I would pass up the opportunity to analyze the cruncher game between the reds and the citizens, You would do the same if you were in my shoes, wouldn't you?

I believe we can go on with the analysis now, shall we begin?

1) LIVERPOOL:

Although the reds are not in the best of shape and yet to get back to their best form, they could still give the citizens a difficult game considering how the meetings between these 2 sides have been in their last 8 open game meetings with the reds winning 3, drawing 3, and losing 2 of these encounters. They, Liverpool, will definitely be looking forward to turning their "not to good" form around with a huge win over Manchester City.

Another stat that would have favored the reds is their impressive run of 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 4 home games against Man City, however their suprise losses to both Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion in their last 2 home games this season makes this stat a tricky one.

Unfortunately, these seems to be the only stats backing up the Jurgen Kloop's men to get a win over Pep Guardiola's side.

2) MANCHESTER CITY:

The citizens' ongoing impressive run of 20 games games without defeat which also includes a 13 game winning streak is a huge stat that tilts them getting all 3 points in this game. I can categorically say that no team in England woukd want to face them in this current state as it is most certain that Pep's men do not look ready to give up both streaks.

Another stat that favors Manchester City getting a win is their impressive balanced style of play that have seen them claim 7 clean sheets in their last 8 games in all competitions this season, whilst Liverpool, on the other hand, can only boast of a single cleansheet in as many games. A huge question Jurgen Kloop and his men will be looking to answer is if they could get a goal past City without conceding as well. Hmm, a huge question you want to say.

I believe we are also fully aware that City are presently sitted at the top of the table, and it is most obvious that they would not want to give up this position so easily considering how well they have worked to get there. They will definitely be coming into the game with the huge drive of keeping their distance at top of the table as far as possible from teams below them.

In addition, although Liverpool have been the better side in the last 8 meetings between these 2 sides, we should not forget that Liverpool have not gotten a win over the citizens in their last 2 encounters. It will not be much of a suprise if the citizens make it 3.

Although a win for either side looks to be the most likeable outcome of this game, there are also chances that this game could end in a draw. But one thing I am certain of is that we would get an entertaining game as it has always being between these 2 sides.

ADD ONS:

Although, Diogo Jota is back in training for the reds, it is most likely that he will miss todays game, whilst City will be without the service of Kevin De Bruyne once again.

Feel free to drop your opinions and comments, they will be greatly appreciated.
