Gabonese striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was once again left out of the Arsenal squad as the Gunners came up against Premier League side, Southampton.

When asked about questions concerning Aubameyang, boss Mikel Arteta pointed out that the Gabonese was responsible to breaching disciplinary protocols.

Aubameyang's actions

Looking into the matter further, a few things were discovered. The Gabonese striker had taken a trip to another country without the notice of the club.

That alone was enough crime. Nonetheless, to add salt to the already existing injury, Aubameyang decided to show up late from the journey. Leading him to miss a good number of training sessions.

Mikel Arteta's actions

Arteta was asked some questions in his pre-match press conference about Aubameyang's actions and removing the Gabonese as Arsenal captain.

However, the manager remained silent. Only making a rare move by omitting the striker from Arsenal's match day squad. In his place came French striker Alexandre Lacazette who also gave a beautiful account of himself as well.

No Aubameyang – No problem

Despite leaving the Gabonese out of their match day squad, Arsenal still gave a good account of themselves with a fair measure of ease.

The Gunners emerged as 3-0 winners over their rivals, it what proved to be an extremely one-sided fixture.

Summary

It is great to see Mikel Arteta have a firm grip on the dressing room. Giving players a matching discipline once they misbehave no matter how important they may be.
