Pep Guardiola-led Manchester City side have finally got themselves busy in the January transfer window.
According to recent reports, the Etihad giants have succeeded in adding Argentine youngster Julian Alvarez to their ranks. The striker would be making a move from River Plate to the camp of the Citizens.
The details of the deal
According to the details of the deal, Manchester City reportedly paid a transfer fee of 15 million Euros.
Nonetheless, even at the completion of paperwork, the details of the deal suggests Alavarez would not be moving to the Etihad stadium immediately.
He would be allowed to finish the current season with the River Plate side, before making a summer move to the Etihad.
The quality of Julian Alvarez
In terms of quality, the former River Plate striker is a force to reckon with. He proved to be instrumental as River Plate were able to clinch their first league title in more than six years.
In terms of his performances, Alvarez netted 18 times as River Plate emerged as Argentine Champions.
More to that, he was also part of the team that clinched the Copa America title. However, he did not get that much of regular game time considering the level of players at the country in that tournament.
Summary
Alvarez is one player who looks built for the Premier League. And playing under a manager like Pep would only be given him more edge.
He may prove to be an instrumental player at City as the years go by.
