The quest to lift the Europa league just got juicy for the Gunners, as they waited till the tail end of the game to leave a scar on their host. The knockout first leg match between Olympiacos and Arsenal which took place in Piraeus seemed like it was gonna end in a goalless draw, but a late Goal from the French international Lacazette saw Mikel Arteta's side continue in their fine form. The encounter ended 1-0 in Favour of Arsenal, thereby putting them on a huge advantage ahead of their second leg meeting in London. Arsenal has really shown signs of improvements since Arteta took over from Emery. Before their Thursday Europe round of 32 first leg game against Olympiacos, Arsenal had no problem in dislodging Newcastle United in their last match in the league, finishing the game with a convincing 4-0 win over their visitors. Though the Gunners are currently sitting at the 10th position on the Premier league table with 34 points from 26 games, they still stand a chance of booking a champions league spot with this current form of theirs.

Fortunately for them, their next league match is against Everton, and Everton are 9th on the table with 36 points. This simply means that if Arsenal are able to secure a win over Everton, they will go higher up the ladder, and this back to back win for them is a morale booster heading into that interesting clash with Everton on Sunday. Arsenal also showed signs of ball possession against Olympiacos on their Thursday Europa match, but their inability to convert their chances almost climax the game in a goalless draw, and I'm sure Lacazette will be relieved to have net the winner after missing good chances earlier in the game. However, I don't think it's gonna be that easy against Everton if they fail to take advantage of their chances when it comes knocking. Everton will sure be a tougher side to contend, and I know Mikel Arteta will be caitioning them on that. The goal against Olympiacos from the frenchman also means something good for the team, as he has now netted two goals for Arsenal in his last two games for the gunners across all competitions, after failing to find the back of the net in his previous nine appearances. Congrats to the Gunners, the Europa league is certainly not impossible with this form.
