The UEFA champions league is getting more interesting than most of us envisaged, and the crazy results that keeps popping up so far, has left the competition more unpredictable than it was. With the shocking 8-2 result between Bayern and Barca, and the elimination of Diego Simeone's stubborn Atletico Madrid by Leipzig, it's almost not out of place to say that anything can happen between Manchester City and Lyon tonight. In no distant time, the former Premier league champions will be taking their own destiny into their hands, as they play a tricky French side Lyon in the quarter finals.

Having lost domestic glory, the Citizens won't be leaving any stone unturned in their bid to lift the trophy. However, they have Lyon to overcome tonight, if that quest must be kept alive. You will recall Pep Guardiola's side conquered Real Madrid in the round of 16 to book a spot in the quarter finals. Yeah, they are the favorite going into tonight's game, and that makes it even more interesting. They have not won this trophy before and this could be their best chance to take a shot at it, despite Bayern Munich lurking around to be their acid test. Well, the talk about Bayern will come for another day, but for now, City will be more concerned about a team that eliminated the Italian Champions Juventus from the competition.

That's obviously not a team anyone should underrate. With Sergio Aguero not fully recovered to be in the line up, Gabriel Jesus will hope to take such opportunity will full hands, and perhaps replicate his performance against Madrid. Despite Lyon winning just 3 of their last 15 champions league games, they have got their sting and City needs to be wary of such possibilities. For them, dragging City to penalties will surely be a great strategy, or maybe, scoring an early goal, then park the bus. The French side are certainly the underdog and will be playing with less pressure. Also, they may not have been prolific in scoring, but trust you me, they have only failed to score in just two of their previous 16 fixtures in this competition. So, who do you think will progress tonight?
