It wasn't one of those difficult tasks for Lucien Favre's side on Saturday, as they demolished their visitors 5-1 at Signal Iduna-Park to continue their Bundesliga title pursuit. Borussia Dortmund doesn't look like they are going to drop points anytime soon, and with the momentum they are going with each game, They is great hope that Dortmund are not ready to play second fiddle to Bayern Munich this season and the race for the crown have only become more interesting.

The League leaders are comfortably sitting with 48 points, just enough to give them a breathing space and reduce the pressure Bayern Munich is pushing on them. I personally would love to see Dortmund lift the Bundesliga this season. The dominance of German league by Bayern hasn't helped my passion, for me, it's the competitiveness that makes it worthwhile.

Bayern Munich have regained their winning form and have won all their last five league games if not more than. The Champion's win over Stuttgart few hours ago shows their unwavering determination not to throw in the towel just yet. The Win againt Stuttgart at the Alianz Arena has shoot Bayern to Second position on the log with 42 points, just six behind Dortmund that up there with 48 points.

If there is anything Borussia Dortmund and German league faithfuls know about Bayern Munich, it is the obvious fact of never giving up until it's over. Winning has become a culture in Bayern in the past few years, especially as regards German football. They know their worth and status and if any team must deprive them that status as the Champions, then they must have to fight their way to the end. Can Dortmund maintain the tempo or will they fall along the line? Well, I don't wanna imagine that.

Having been able to find the back of the net 50 times from 19 games already this season in the German Bundesliga, it will a bit shallow for anyone not to see Dortmund as a force to reckon with. Even Bayern knows that to topple Favre's side this season and reclaim their spot, they will have to be double their last season's best. The season is still long though, and am pretty sure the best dramas are yet to unfold.

Dortmund vs Hannover Game Overview

Saturday saw the German Marco Reus put up another masterful display at Signal Iduna park, as he got a goal and one assist in the game. The Captain now has 12 goals to his name this season in the Bundesliga and is just one goal behind the guy with 13 goals on Bundesliga Top scorers chart. The win saw them temporarily leading with nine points gap on Saturday, however with Bayern having defeated Stuttgart this afternoon, they have cut the lead to six points.

Favre's side will sure wish every game will be like the one against a relegation threatened Hannover side on Saturday, as they dominated the game with ease. Though they only managed to get one goal against their visitors before half time. However, their main brutality was unleashed in the second half of the game, as they ruthlessly scored four goals to set up a 5-1 win over Hannover.

Dortmund drew the first blood through their fullback Achraf Hakim who took his strike with the aplomb of a real soccer veteran. Though the visitors were resilient enough not to concede another goal before halftime, they couldn't withstand the heat of Dortmund's attack in second half. Rues was the one who set up Hakim's goal before scoring at the 60th minute to make it 2-0 for the host. A masterful chip from the captain was all he needed to beat Michael Esser.

Mario Gotze also got on the score sheet to make it 3-0 for the host. In fact this game against Hannover was the first time Marco Reus and Mario Gotze are scoring in the same match since January 2013. That's approximately six years ago and during the reign of Jurgen Klopp as the team's Manager.

It was an awesome day as Raphael Guerriero increased the tally to four and though Hannover managed to get one back through Benjamin Hadzic, Axel Witsel will later crown the evening with another finish to end the game in a 5-1 thrashing. It was the first time Borussia Dortmund is reaching 48 points from 19 games in a Bundesliga season. This in all points to the fact that the "Black & Yellow" guys are ready to go all the way this season.
