Good day sports lovers, trust you're catching fun over here. It seems many of us here are unaware that the U-17 World Cup just Started in Brazil and of course, I was able to watch the Nigeria vs Hungary game yesterday. Yes, the Golden eaglets are no new comers when it comes to the FIFA U-17 world cup. In fact, Nigeria is the most successful country at the U-17 FIFA men world cup, having lifted the trophy a record Five times. It's always an interesting spectacle watching future football talents at their early stages. Saturday saw the Five Times World Champions battling the Magyars at the Estadio Olimpico Goianai Stadium in Brazil. It was the Group-B opening match and I had to squeeze out time to watch it, especially because it was my Country that was playing. I really do enjoy watching Nigeria at this level because we're the team to beat and always one of the favorites in the tournament. You will recall that Nigeria missed the last edition of this tournament which took place in 2017 and was hosted by India. It was a big blow for the Eaglets. But they are back to do what they know how to do best, Conquer! Yeah, they are currently on a quest to lift the trophy for the sixth time and I guess they're aware of the resistance that will be waiting for them at Brazil. They're pitched in same tent with Hungary who are appearing for the second time in the tournament, also in group B are Ecuador and Australia. I think the Golden eaglets are the favorites and won't struggle to reach the knockout stages.

A Little Look At The Match Between Nigeria and Hungary

It wasn't one of those easy going opener that Nigeria bargained for, as Hungary proved a hard but to crack. They knew Nigeria were the favorites and almost took everyone by surprise from the beginning of the match. The Hungarians performance against Nigeria showed they were not in Brazil to be taken for granted, and though they ended up losing 2-4 to the Five time world champions, they will be glad that Nigeria did not get the win on a platter of gold. The Hungarians didn't take long to draw the first blood as they were already leading with one goal after 3 minutes into the game, thanks to Gyorgy Komaromi, who took advantage of a little defensive crack to put his side on the lead. At this point, I had to adjust my sit because the game was going to be more interesting than I thought.

Nigeria later restored the scoreline to 1-1 after Wisdom Ubani was brought down in the penalty box, of course the captain Tijani stepped up to net the equaliser at the 23rd minute.

Hungarians took the lead again just before the break, making sure Manu Garba will have to stretch his coaching wit to wriggle Nigeria out of their web. After the break, the Golden Eaglets came back with a renewed eagerness to win the match. Gaba made few changes and it boosted the team. They later finished the game 4-2 in favour of Nigeria. The Eaglets will be playing Ecuador next and will look forward to consolidating their chances of advancing to the next round.
