Good evening Sport fans. Trust we're taking all preventive measures to safe this period. I wanna take brief look at the top leading goal scorers before the pandemic went on full gear, forcing football activities to shutdown indefinitely, pending the situation of things. I was actually wondering if those currently topping their respective leagues will be able to finish top by the time the leagues are resumed. What's the possibility of that, or do you think any of these guys will be toppled? Let's take a look.

The English Premier League

At the top of the goal scorers chart is a man who isn't new in English football when it comes to putting his opponents defense on edge. He is Jamie Vardy. The English forward is currently sitting top with 19 goals in the premier league this season. His sterling form has seen Leicester remain in third position on the table, as it gives the club hope of picking a spot in Europe in the coming season. He also has 4 assists in the league so far. Next to him is Arsenal's Aubameyang with 17 goals. Personally, I don't see Arsenal striker overtaking Carry in their race for the golden boot.

The Spanish La Liga

From England, we touchdown in Spain. Spain is one of the countries being hit hard by the pandemic. In La liga, it seems there is only one king and he is not ready go cede his throne to anyone anytime soon. His name is Lionel Messi. I guess most people won't be surprised by that, it couldn't have been any other player. He is currently the best player in the World, a prize he has won six times in his career. The Argentine margician currently has 19 goals in the league, despite resuming late due to injury. He overtook Kareem Benzema who is currently in 13 goals, and the chances of the Real Madrid forward bouncing back is unlikely. Messi also has a whooping 12 assists so far in the league, making it almost impossible for any player to match him.

German Bundesliga

Over there in the German Bundesliga, it seems we may still be open to surprises. Bayern is currently leading the league with 55 points, with a highflying Leipzig side in the second position with 51 points. In fact the Bavaria club had to come from behind to topple Leipzig and Dortmund. On the goal scoring chart, we have the Polish Forward Robert Lewandoski leading the race for the golden boot with 25 goals to his name. But it seems he will need to consolidate on his form or risks being ousted by Leipzig's Werner who is maintaining a close chase with 21 goals too. Let's watch how things unfold.

The Italian Seria A

No need to mention that Italy is currently being ravaged by the covid-19, thus everywhere is under shutdown. I. the Italian Seria A, it seems the door is still open for Ronaldo to topple Lazio's Immobile who is currently leading the race with 27 goals in the league, with 7 assists so far to put him ahead of the Portuguese captain who only has 21 goals and 3 assists so far in the Italian league for Juventus. It is very well uncertain whether the Lazio forward will maintain his scoring form and grab the prize, but Until then, I can't be so sure.
