Wednesday's champion league fixtures brought some mouthwatering and exhilarating moments. As a Barcelona fan, I was basically more interested in the game between the Catalan club and Inter Milan at the Camp Nou. I knew it was gonna be interesting to watch, especially with Lionel Messi back in the Line up. But along the line, I switched interest to the game at Anfield between the European champios Liverpool and the Austrian champions Salzburg. To be honest, this was one of the least games I considered as a walkover match and didn't foresee Liverpool having any difficulty in dismantling their Visitors.

However, the last 30 minutes of the match became the most interesting of the night. It was a night that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will have to reassess, probably not what they bargained. Who could have imagined Salzburg staging a comeback from a 3-0 goal deficit just after 36 minutes. It was really unsettling and at the same time funny, what could have come over Klopp's side, where they too confident or complacent, or could they have underrated Salzburg who are also the Flag bearers of Austrian League?

Come on, Salzburg had a pride to protect and even if they ended up not winning the match, they left Anfield reminding everyone why they deserved some respect. The game later ended 4-3 in favour of Liverpool but Salzburg got a standing ovation from me in particular for their show of resilience, determination and unwavering drive to turn the table against their host. On a night like this, the big boys prove their mettle and that's what Mohammed Salah did to ensure Liverpool grabbed the whole points for the night. Liverpool showed class and dominance throughout the First half, but it seems Klopp didn't talk to them during the break maybe because it appeared they had already sealed the game. Salzburg came back stronger and more eager to pull a stunt.

With the visitors mounting so much pressure of Liverpool's defence, it didn't take long for them to pull one back. There are young and unfazed by the intimidating Anfield fans. Just 15 minutes into the Second half, the Austrian champions had levelled the score to 3-3. It was at this point I now concluded that what happened to Barcelona last season in the champions league could happen to anybody. It took Salah's second goal of the night to rescue Liverpool, and even though they won the game, Klopp knows he needs to mend some cracks before before Leicester come visiting on Saturday.
