CHELSEA vs BAYERN (0-3)

Good morning Football lovers, trust we had an awesome night. So yesterday, we saw the games that played out in the UEFA Champions between top teams. We saw Chelsea humbled by an overwhelming Bayern Munich side at Stamford Bridge. The game saw Frank Lampard's Blues suffer a 3-0 defeat to the Bavaria Club. All three goals where scored in the second half by Gnabry(two goals) and of course the goal dragon himself, Robert Lewandowski(one goal). The result leaves Chelsea with little or nothing to hope for when they travel to Germany in few weeks time to play the second leg at the Alianz Arena. It's even more disturbing that Chelsea will be without Marcos Alonso and Gorginho in the second leg. It's really a trying time for young Frank Lampard in his first season as Chelsea manager, and from the way things are looking, it seems like Bayern have put the possibility of the Blues pulling through to the next round of the competition beyond reach. The victory also emboldened Bayern's statement and readiness to go all the way in this campaign irrespective of who crosses their part. The German champions have proving to be a top contender for the trophy thus far, having maintained 100% results from group stage. Bayern are indeed a force to reckon with in Europe this season, and anyone standing on their way could get demolished. With Bayern coming back to top their league, they have sent a message across on their quest to conquer both Europe and Germany, watch out for this guys.

NAPOLI vs BARCELONA(1-1)

At Naples, a City where Napoli hosted their opponents at the Sau Paolo stadium, the outcome of that game have left many fans with unanswered questions. The game that ended in 1-1 draw between the Italian side and the Spanish Champions witnessed so much prematch frenzy, especially as regards the arrival of Lionel Messi to the City where Maradona is seen as a god. Messi who is regarded as the heir apparent of Maradona in the City was given an overwhelming welcome from the City occupants. Fears hoverred over Sao Paolo because of the dreadfulness of the Argentine. Coming off his four goals destruction of Eibar in the weekend, expectations were high that the six times Ballon d'or winner will singlehandely dislodge Napoli. However, the game turned out harder than we thought, as we saw a resilient Napoli side proving too tough for their visitors. After what Roma did to Barcelona last two seasons, Napoli seem to have drawn inspiration from the league counterparts. The host tried their best to not conceed an away goal, and at a point, it seemed they were going to succeed in that. First half saw Gattuso's side go one goal up, thanks to the 30th minute goal by Mertens. Barca rarely had a shot on target. The Catalan giants were only able to equalize in the Second half after much struggling to break the defensive line of Napoli, thanks to the goal from Griezmann. Barcelona's performance left doubts as to their possibility of going far in the competition, but we will talk about this after their second leg at the Camp Not when Napoli come visiting.
