Welcome back from international break, it's been a thrilling week as national teams battled one another for a place in their respective Continental Challenge coming up in no distant time. I'm glad that the league games are back and I think Bettors who don't fancy betting on National teams will be glad too. Lots of mouthwatering encounters to behold across Europe's top leagues, but today, I think all attention will be at the Etihad.

It's Really Getting Interesting..

The English Premier league seems to be having some unexpected curves of recent and from the look of things, we may likely witness the unexpected at the end of the season. In the mornings of this season, it's always been a City/Liverpool contest for the trophy. However, the Likes of Leicester and Chelsea seem not ready to take the back bench this season. Leicester are currently second on the table followed by a young Frank Lampard's Chelsea who confidently sitting on the third position, there by leaving one of the Leagues Favorites at the 4th position.

It's Manchester City VS Chelsea!

Pep Guardiola's under-pressure Manchester City will be welcoming a highflying Lampard's Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, as they look forward to getting themselves back on track after disappointing 3-1 defeat to league rivals Liverpool before the international break. That loss left a big gap in the title race between the defending champions and Liverpool. City are currently 9 points behind Klopp's red who are cruising with 34 points. Securing a win against Chelsea today could mean they're still hopeful of staging a return back into contention for the title, even though they will also be hoping that Crystal Palace slows down Liverpool when Klopp's side visits them earlier.

For Chelsea and Frank Lampard, they've been going against the odds to prove people that never gave them a chance wrong. But funny enough, the young "inexperienced" Lampard has mastered the Supreme act of not counting his chicks before they hatch. He has silently built his young side into a team that cannot be underrated as far as this season is concerned. With 12 games having been played in the league so far, Chelsea have recorded 8 wins, two draws and two defeats. They're currently sitting on the third position with 26 points ahead of City. Beating City today at the Etihad will sure boost their confidence and can also mean a tacit way to declare themselves as title contenders.

A Little Stats Between Both Sides

In the past Five meetings between both sides, Manchester City have shown they're not of the same stock with the guys from Stamford Bridge. City have won Four of those encounters, while Chelsea have only been able to secure one win. The Citizens have scored a total of 13 goals in those 5 clashes and have conceded just 5 goals from Chelsea. If one goes with this stats, one may be tempted not to give Chelsea a chance, but then, this is a revamped Chelsea Squad who are playing at a very high altitude, City will be taking a huge risk if they get tempted to underrate Chelsea today.

Possible Players To Miss The Game:

They're players who may not feature in today's game for different reasons, let's see who we have here.

Man City: Laporte, Ederson, Zinchenko, Sane, Bernardo Silva etc.

Chelsea: Barkley, Rudiger, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi etc.

My Prediction: CITY 3-1 CHELSEA.
