It's been a while I dropped a blog here and 'am delighted that the football season is now in full swing. One thing is always sure when it comes to football, you never gonna run out of some crazy, funny or controversial stuffs to talk about and keep the interactions alive. It's always fun that way and being able to earn some tokens doing that makes the whole adventure worthwhile.

So yesterday being Saturday saw Frank Lampard's Chelsea hosting Sheffield United at the Stamford Bridge. It was one of those games many will expect the former European Champions to have a rollercoaster ride, but this current Chelsea squad have continued to defy that confidence with each game so far this season.

It's not been easy for the Young boss as he continues to mend a team that weren't that impressive during the preseason. Chelsea have mission to challenge the Premier League duo(Manchester City and Liverpool) for the title and to a large extent water down the possibility of the duo replicating their dominance in the league this season. From all indications, that mission and it's actualization appears blur from a Chelsea Fan's point of view, as the team have only been able to take home one win after four games this season.

The Blues are sitting at the 9th position in the table with just five points to their name. Lots of doubt were casted initially on Frank Lampard as regards his experience and capability to manage a top flight team like Chelsea, however, his legendary impact on Stamford Bridge as a player seems to have louded volumes for him. With Chelsea having won the Europa League last season under Maurizio Sarri, Lampard has got a benchmark to hit in Europe.

Having said that, it's also worthy of note that Lampard was unfortunate to arrive when Eden Hazard was taking a bow from the team. The Belgian campaign has been the Blues talisman and has inspired the squad to several glorious moments. His absence has undoubtedly left an unfilled void in the squad, and it's gonna take time for the team to come to terms with the new situation.

Having said that, I think David Luiz's eleventh hour departure to the Emirates also distorted the back line a bit, and the players Manning the defense will need to get use to the new adjustment as well. Lampard has been a victim of circumstance, as Chelsea also got a Transfer ban, therefore barricading the young coach from adding more players to his squad to boast their performance, especially with Manchester city and Liverpool to contented with.

In general, it hasn't been an awesome or pleasurable journey so far for Lampard at Stamford Bridge. His first game saw him pummeled 4-0 by a not so good Manchester United side, Sheffield United would have been his first home win this season as a Chelsea manager, but it's obvious he will have to hope for that in subsequent games. He knows he has to prove his detractors wrong but he also needs to start acting fast. He is currently under pressure and winning his next fixture will go a long way to reduce the tension and give him a breathing space.

In all, I think Frank Lampard should be given more time to settle down, especially putting all those circumstances into consideration. What's your take on this, you think Lampard has got what it takes to turn the tables around? Lemme hear your opinion via the comment section.
