Not too long ago, the 2008 UEFA champions league champions Manchester United raised dusts and sent out signal that they may be returning to the Champions league next season, after securing a 0-2 win against a resilient Burnley side at Turf Moor. The win leaves United on the 5the position on the Premier league table with 31 points to their name, just one point behind fourth place Lampard's Chelsea. The Saturday night win is United's 8th win of the season from 20 games so far, having suffered 5 defeats and 7 draws. Though they have played a game more than the blues, however, Chelsea will need to defeat an Artetar led Arsenal at the Emirates stadium tomorrow to keep a four points space between them and Manchester United. Few weeks back, no one would have predicted United to dream of contending for top four especially under the embattled Ole. However, it seems we're seeing or about to see more twists up there as they now seem to be pressure from the reds. The win over Burnley seem to have rekindled fans hope of making it to Europe, though not without a huge doubt hanging around Ole's ability to inspire the team to Champions league next season. Ole seems to be one of few coaches who is yet to receive the sack letter from the management, after being pressured alongside other coaches as possible managers to be fired in no distant time.
He has Watched Tottenham fire Pochettino that led his side to a Champions league final last season against Liverpool, and now replaced by Jose Mourinho. Ole is still at Old trafford despite rumors of a possible sack. He has also watched Unai Emery get sacked at Emirates and replaced by Arteta. However, the new seeming strides of the squad and their rekindled push for top 4 could by Ole more time to right his wrongs and pacify the fans to let him stay longer. It took a first half Goa from Anthony Martial and a dying minute Goa from Rashford to seal their Cleansheet win after a while. Rashford's goal was his 12the for the season and United's 32nd Goa so far in the league. Maguire who was really pleased by United's performance against Burnley after they lost their previous game had this to say, "We maybe could have been better on the ball in the second half and killed the game off, but it's a big three points for us. We’re a team who haven't been conceding many chances, but set-pieces and other basic things have been letting us down. It’s nice to come here, get a clean sheet and get the win. On our day we can beat anyone, but we’ve been far too inconsistent this year. We didn’t perform at all at Watford, so it was important to come here, do the basics well and keep the clean sheet," he told BT Sport.
What's your take, do you see Manchester United Finishing Top Four?
