Thursday night was one of those nights Arsenal fans wouldn't like to remember, as they watched their rejuvenating team kicked out of the Europa league right there at the Emirates stadium. Football will never stop to surprise us, like, who would have foreseen Olympiakos defeating a highflying Mikel Arteta's team at this period. We are talking about a team that gave Everton a run for their money in their last Premier league game. The game which ended 1-2 after extreme at the Emirates in favour of the Visitors saw Arsenal knocked out of the competition on away goal rule. It's really a sad night and of all persons it was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang whose dying minute miss killed their last hope of qualification. The Arsenal star man who have been on the front burner for Arteta's attack appeared really devastated after the game, and had to be consoled by his teammates. After winning 1-0 at Athens, many of us thought it will be a rollercoaster ride for the Gunners, however, the outcome have left me unsettled especially because of my soft spot for Mikel Arteta. Getting the Europa would have been the fastest way to book a place in next season's champions league, but now, they will have to hope on a little premier league luck to make it to the competition next year.

MAN UNITED CRUISED TO EUROPA ROUND-16

In one of the other games that got my attention, Manchester United had no problems in dislodging their visitors, as they humbled Club Brudge to a 5-0 defeat. It's really been a while I saw the red devils record such a huge margin of victory, in fact, they would have scored more if they were a bit more clinical. The win ensured that United keep their possibility of lifting a silverware this season alive, especially a continental one. The match also saw United's Loanee Odiong Ighalo netting his first goal for the club, a moment he has been waiting for all this while. The former Nigerian international's general performance yesterday showed that he was hungry for success and if given more opportunity, he will prove his mettle. Bruno Fernandez also had his moments as he scored his second United goal with his usual Penalty fashion. In general, the squad is looking more lively now and it seems they are beginning to find their form.
