Wednesday Champions league night must have ended on a celebration mood for many, but for others, it's definitely not a night to remember. For PSG, they left no stone unturned in making sure they book a spot in the next ahead of their Round of 16 counterpart, Burussia Dortmund. The first leg in Germany saw Dortmund beat the French champions 2-1, thereby putting themselves on the advantage before the second leg. However, they failed to consolidate on their advantage at Paris and which have seen them knocked out of the competition. The stadium was empty due to the precautionary measures put in place to check the spread of COVID-19, despite this, PSG were more hungry for this win and a first half 2-0 from the home side was all they needed to progress to the next round of the competition. Athletico Prove Too Strong For Liverpool

Indeed, everything that has a beginning must have an end. For the current European Champions Liverpool, yesterday night marked the end of their title defense. Just as expected, the Visitors from Spain may not have surprised many with the way they approached the game. With a 1-0 advantage over Liverpool going into yesterday's game, we always knew it will be difficult for the European Champions yo turn the table around again, just like they did against Barcelona. Though Liverpool started off the game on a very high tempo, mounting so much pressure on Athletico's high walls. It didn't take too long for them to open the scoring through Wijnaldum's header. That was enough to send them into extra time. And at a point, we thought it was all over for the visitors when Firmino made it 2-0, but in game of football, it's never over until it's over. He visitors fought back to finish the get 2-3 at Anfield, thereby booking a spot in the last eight on a 4-2 aggregate. Liverpool will now have to focus on their Premier league glory.
