France national team defender Benjamin Pavard was named the author of the best goal at World Cup 2018. The 22-year-old player scored a goal in the 1/8 finals of the World Cup against Argentina. After this goal the French took a strong-willed victory with a score 4: 3 and reached 1/4 final. All in all there were 18 goals in the list of challengers.

Juan Quintero took the second place with a free-kick from the penalty area in the group stage match against Japan. And the national Croatia team capitan Luka Modric got the third place with a goal into Argentina's gates also in the group stage.

By the way Pavard is the first European player to become the author of the best goal of the tournament since this prize was established in 2006.
