PREMIER LEAGUE: AFCON hero would be available for Liverpool's trip to Burnley
According to recent statements, AFCON hero Sadio Mane would be back at Anfield today. His presence today would mean he becomes a potential option for their travels to Burnley over the weekend.
Sadio Mane's arrival
The Senegalese forward made his arrival to England on Wednesday. However, with Liverpool coming up against Leicester barely 15 hours later, he did not have the opportunity to be back with the squad.
That notwithstanding, manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed optimism over the potential inclusion of Mane in their trip to Burnley. From his statement, he believes the forward must have had enough rest on his return.
Sadio Mane's time with Sengal
Mane was influential as his team emerged as AFCON winners. The determination of the Senegalese team was top-notch as they made it a priority to shut Liverpool teammate Mohammed Salah in the finals.
Throughout 90 minutes an extra time, Salah performance was kept at bay as the Senegalese defenders had their eyes on him. Strong tackles on the Egyptian as soon as the ball came to his feet.
In the end, they emerged victorious and worthy African champions.
Overview
With Mane's return, Liverpool now have more options in attack. The likes of Luiz Diaz, Firmino, Diogo Jota, Salah, Mane and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Much to the manager’s delight, as all can pose threats to any opposition at any given point.
