TRANSFERS: Philippe Coutinho prefers Arsenal move

English giants Arsenal are now first in line to sign Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

According to reports, Philippe Coutinho prefers a loan switch to the Emirates than to any other Premier League team.

Coutinho's time in Barcelona

In recent months, the Brazilian has been linked to a handful of Premier League teams. Ever since falling out of favour with Barcelona, Coutinho has been desperate to seal a move away from the Catalan giants.

Both the era of Ronald Koeman, and now Xavi Hernandez, Coutinho has constantly failed to seal a regular spot in the Barcelona set-up.

Team’s constantly interested in Coutinho

There are about three Premier League who have signaled interest in Coutinho's signature. Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham in the list. However, the recent interest from Arsenal seems to be the most intense.

Coutinho was quite instrumental during his days at Liverpool. However, he has failed to hit the same heights he showed during his days at Anfield.

Weighing Coutinho's option

The available options on display are Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham. However, Newcastle seem like an unlikely option due to their league performances.

Everton as well do not really look up to the task. So the battle is between Tottenham and Arsenal.

Overview

In as much as Arsenal look like the perfect option, Tottenham would also give the Gunners a run for their money.

Only time would tell if they can seal the transfer.
