The cold hands of one of the most deadliest killer Virus in the world today has strike at the world of sports. Africa is mourning the lost of an illustrious football agent, journalist and football official. In fact not just Africa, but other parts of the sports world is also mourning.

Pape Diouf was born on 18 December, 1951 in Abeche a major town in the district of Ouaddai in Chad. Pape explained sometime in 2013 to have lived in Chad for only six months before moving to his home country Senegal. He further stated that if it were not for the birth certificate indicating place of birth, chad wouldn't have feature anywhere in his life. But being the son of a mechanic in the French army, moving from one part of the world to another was simply normal. At the age of eighteen, he moved to Merseille and later become a sports journalist, football agent and Club President.

Pape Diouf who was unfortunate to have being infected with the deadly Corona virus died on Tuesday. The announcement of his death as expected raised emotions world over. Being the first black leader of a French Club, Olympic Marseille, it will be expected that those who had rubbed shoulders with him during his stint will feel the pain the most.

Way back on the sidelines in 2009 at OM, Didier Deschamps had rubbed shoulders with Marseille's Pape Diouf, then president will miss him so, most of the players in the French football, and also supporters of the Olympian club, the emotion is great among the 1998 and 2018 world champion. Surely, even his colleagues in the print media both in Senegal and France will also feel the void being created by his sudden demise.

Senegal, Chad, Africa and the rest of the world in general will miss a man of spirit and conviction, a man whose passion for football cannot be easily matched. May his soul rest in peace. Good by Pape D.

Remember to follow the does and dont's of the times as prescribed by the governments and especially the health officials.

Stay and Keep Safe!

Sincerely, @izge.
