With news that the new season is set to kick off by the 9th of August, teams are very much in a hurry to get fit for the new English Premier League season. For most of the teams, it may yet be another season where they struggle for revival and a chance to keep playing in the league. For other teams, it would be more of qualifying for the continental competitions which they have set their eyes on. For others though, the title is all but nothing in the race to be the dominant team in the premier league. This is the exact position they find themselves in and which could very well stay with them as Arsenal continue to hunt for a chance to play continental football this season. Their efforts would start with a friendly match against Colorado.
Arsenal
The match which is to be billed to be played on Tuesday is believed to be a friendly game to check just how ready Arsenal is for the new season. Arsenal has been rocked with a different crisis during this transfer window with their exploits in the transfer market looking quite horrible from the viewpoint of any fan in Arsenal. They have also shown themselves to be quite devoid of any form of leadership after their captain and player Laurent refused to go on their tour to the US. Well, it is show time now and they would have to forget all that has happened off the pitch in order to make sure every game counts. Colorado though is not one of the games which they would be looking forward to excitedly and as such you can expect a lot of rotation in this game.
Colorado
If there is one team which would be proud and looking forward to the game against Arsenal, it has to be Colorado. It is simply not every time which a team from England comes to town and they would look to take advantage of that fact. As the match would be played in Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, a stadium which they are most comfortable and familiar of, they would have some confidence that they would be able to considerable damage to the English team. It remains to be seen just how they would fare coming against one of the most successful teams in the world.
Just a single loss in their recent games is pretty good for Colorado as they have kept their game really neat in recent times. However, the opposition which they played against would surely not have been on the quality of Arsenal and therefore, they would have to up their game considerably if they want to put in a good showing. Arsenal has an identical form pattern to their opponent and has only lost once to Chelsea in their previous six games that were played. Surely then, they would have some measure of belief that this match would be a walk in the park for them. It is still preseason but they would want to start with a bang.
