The premier happens to be just days away and teams have already started preparing to make the most of this period. Most of their preparation would lead to the big pre-season tournament which is set to take place at different places in the world depending on the one the team chooses. However, there are still the usual friendly matches which are being played too and this is where Sevilla and Liverpool fall into the picture. They are set to play a friendly match each other on Sunday and most teams would want to win. The match would be played at Fenway Park as both teams would eager to get this done with.

Liverpool

Liverpool is the champions of Europe and quite possibly the champions of the world. They did the impossible many times last season and ended up with a trophy under their belt. Not just any trophy but the Champions League. They defeated the favorites Barcelona on their way there with an empathic victory in Anfield. The memories of such wins would be fresh in their minds as they prepare to take on another Spanish giant in Sevilla. With Mane still out of contention with the nations cup and Salah unlikely to play, other players would have a chance to step up to the platform.

Sevilla

One of the teams who made a real impact in the Europa League last season would be Sevilla. Playing quite well until they were eliminated from the competition, they would generally hope that their new season would see them go all the way. However, they would need to face the friendlies which are coming their way before the new season starts. The perfect test for then would no doubt be against Liverpool who has simply been on fire recently. However, the match Liverpool played against Dortmund and lost would give them an insight on how they can effectively best them and dent their form even further.

Form

Speaking about the form of the teams, Liverpool has been outstanding in recent times. Liverpool has only lost once which was against Dortmund in a match that ended 3-2. However, one thing to note is that the matches played were mainly last season and surely they would have a different outcome this season. Liverpool would be sure to change that mentality when they face them on Sunday. For Sevilla, the beats go down.

With just two wins in recent games, Sevilla is nowhere near the power of the men from Anfield. However, what they do have is courage and a determination to do well. They would need all of that when they face Liverpool. It is sure to be a game which is hard-fought by most teams who want to do well heading into the new season.

With the game delicately set for a mouth-watering encounter at Fenway Park, we can only sit back the marvelous gameplay that football has allowed to see every week of our lives. It is a game for the die-hard neutrals.
