There is set to be more twists and turns in the quest to become champions of England when Chelsea welcomes Everton to Stanford Bridge in what is billed to one of the most exciting clashes in the EPL this weekend. There promises to be no simple game in the EPL in recent seasons and Chelsea would most aware of this going into this match. Their job would certainly not be done quickly by the fact that their opponents are in a rich vein of form and would be looking to ensure that their play is up to par. Everton, on the other hand, would be desperate to find a way to keep up their recent form. They would be wary of the fact that Chelsea is yet to lose a game this season but would be confident in their ability to at least force a draw from the title contenders.

Going into this match, there can be no doubt that Chelsea is currently looking like title contenders right now. In their past six games, they have managed to win five and drawn only one. It is worth remembering as was earlier stated that they are yet to lose a single game this season. This just shows the amount of confidence which is following in their veins at the moment. Everton, on the other hand, is not doing so poorly themselves. In their last six encounters, they have managed to win at least four games while drawing the other and losing one. They would nevertheless be confident in their ability to cause Chelsea some troubles going forward.

Line-Ups

When it comes to the lineups that are expected, you can expect Chelsea not to hold by in their selection in any whatsoever. You can expect the likes of Morata and Hazard to start alongside Jorginho and a host of the more regular faces. Chelsea would no doubt be looking for an opportunity to strike early in order to gain the advantage against an Everton side which would feel the full effects of playing in Stanford Bridge. Also, they would be hoping that Hazard’s form this season would more or less also show in this game which would no doubt lead to them having a superior cutting edge to the quality which is on the show on the day.

For Everton, you can expect their more natural side to show up. Regular faces like Walcott and Richardson would likely start as they would be looking to inject some life and pace into the game. They would also be looking to put pressure on Chelsea’s full-backs to force them into some sort of mistake. They would be hoping that everyone comes to the field fully prepared for the challenge which they are about to face or at least expect to encounter when going up against a team like Chelsea.

The truth is that when the match gets rolling, all the stats are forgotten and what counts is what happens at that moment on the pitch.
