In every section or era in the premier league, there have always been two competing teams which can hardly be separated. It was Manchester United and Liverpool in the beginning, then it was Manchester United and Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. However, today Liverpool and Manchester City are two of the strongest teams in the league. When they meet on the 3rd of January next year, that match would obviously be considered to be a title decider.

There is no doubt that Liverpool is a great team. They have gone through many rebranding under their manager Klopp who is known for his love of metal football. What they are right now is the product of hard work, dedication and a little bit of cash to throw around. Manchester City, on the other hand, can owe their success to the coming of Pep, the injection of serious cash into the club and the acquisition of world-class players. If there is any team in the world who have had it easy from the beginning, it is definitely Manchester city. The two identities would no doubt clash in a steamy match at the Etihad Stadium.

When it comes to the form of both teams, they are both on top of their game as you would expect for teams who are topping the league. They are only divided by a single point as of when this article was written. Manchester City would be impressed with their form in recent times. Except for the defeat they suffered in the hands of Chelsea, Manchester City have won all their remaining five games in six matches. In fact, they have only lost twice in all competitions this season. Liverpool in the other hand has an even better record than their rivals at least in the league. Liverpool is the only team in the league right now to be unbeaten. They have only lost twice this season in the champions league to PSG and Napoli. They would want to keep up their good form when they meet their rival at the Etihad stadium.

Line-Ups

There would definitely be a lot of class on show at the Etihad stadium when this match kicks. Manchester City would have the option of playing Aguero and De Bruyne as they are all back from Injury. They would also have the services of Sterling ensuring that the fullbacks are kept busy all day long. They would be hoping that this together with the fact that the match would be played in their own stadium would be enough to ensure victory. Liverpool on the other hand, are very much happy to equal the talent which has been shown by Manchester city. They would bring out their feared attacking trio in the person of Salah, Firmino, and Mane. They would be hoping that they would take advantage of any counter attacks which they get.

This match might just decide where the title is heading and everyone can be sure that it would be one exciting affair.
