I am sure you already have your predictions set for this game. It will be a fierce duel for both teams as one would be fighting for Glory and pride, and the other would be fighting to move one step up the league table. For sure, Newcastle isn't about to go down on the table because of Manchester City.

Head to Head (H2H)

Newcastle obviously doesn't seem to have anything on Manchester when it comes to winning. In their last 5 H2H matches, Manchester has had the upper hand, winning 3 out of five, losing just once, and drawing only one. Although Newcastle won one, it can be said that they should have won it since they were the home team. Their (Newcastle) last two matches against Manchester, however, were also played in Newcastle's home, of which they drew one and lost the most recent one.

The winning margin

Not so much can be said about the winning margin between these two teams. It seems to be that they've not been able to score as many goals as we'd expect. Especially to Man City, who have always had the upper hand in all their H2Hs (team-wise). The winning margin since their last five games has always been one goal or two goals difference. The only time the margin went beyond two goals was eight matches away, and it was an embarrassing defeat for Newcastle. They took home six deadly goals and only deposited one.

Previous games records

Manchester City has been fluctuating with wins in their last five games since the last time they thrashed Arsenal 3 goals to nothing. They played Burnley and showed them they needed some lectures about goals, scoring five gorgeous goals to Burnley's none. I moved to play Chelsea in a match that helped Liverpool win the league, and they lost two goals to 1. Then to Newcastle, whom they beat two goals to none as the away team. Liverpool had a serving of the cold brutality losing four goals to the City. Man City finally played Southampton and lost one goal to none.

Against other teams in their last five games aside from City, Newcastle has not lost one game. The results have either been draws or Newcastle harshly thrashing their opponents. The only time they lost in the last five matches was against Man City.

Teams

Both teams can be said to be in their best in their own rights. Man City has been on top of their game since, although surprisingly losing sometimes, the players are at their best.

Newcastle also has been good since the last five matches, as a matter of fact, I wouldn't state outrightly that they'll lose this game against City. Although it is likely, I still believe that anything can happen.

Prediction/Verdict

Judging from their last H2Hs and their previous matches against other teams, Man City has the upper hand. Couple that to the fact that City is going to be the home team, so this game is totally for City even though I have high hopes for Newcastle.

So it's 1.2 odds for Man City to win and 7.0 for Newcastle to win. For a draw, I'd say 3.8.

Well, may the best team win.
