For many persons, the English premier league is still the best in the world. One of their reasons for this would be the fact that it is a pulsating league with surely no boundaries in what is allowed to happen. Last season, we saw one of the greatest title races in the history of the League and we are surely back for more this season. Many are predicting that it would be a three-team race consisting of Spurs, Manchester City and Liverpool which would eventually narrow into two. So what happens when two of the title leaders are set to meet each other in the second match of the season? We would surely find out soon as Manchester City look set to welcome their rivals to the Etihad Stadium for a match which may have dire consequences come to the end of the season.

Manchester City

Manchester City is the team to beat and may well be the team for a long time to come. However, despite how good they may seem, there are still fears that the league might slip away. Teams like Tottenham and Liverpool are constantly trying to get the better of them and this helps to keep them on their toes throughout the season. With a match against Spurs now on the horizon, they would be aware that any team who claims victory on Saturday would be able to make a statement of intent early on the season. They would want that to be them.

Tottenham

Aston Villa reminded Tottenham how easy thing could go wrong for you in the league if you are complacent. Before Kane’s miracle comeback for Tottenham, they looked like Aston Villa had managed to rattle them. They would want to avoid that on Saturday as the team they would be facing are often considered to be the definition of ruthlessness in the league. Their match would be one which would allow them to perform a litmus test on their chances of the title. It could be a glorious day or a very messy one.

Form

The form of Manchester City is close to what you would expect and it is poised to even get better. Win four wins and two days, the sky is surely their limit right now and you wouldn’t bet against them reaching their very peak and staying there all through the season. A loss here, however, could offer a small dent ahead of the season and could very well be exploited by Liverpool and Tottenham. For Manchester City, every single match counts.

Two wins out of six are not the record which you would want when you are facing Manchester City in just a few days. It can make you so much intimidated heading into the game. However, Tottenham is not a small club by any stretch of the imagination and they should be able to deal with this effectively.

Would it an expected win for Manchester City or does the EPL have more surprises to throw at us this time?
