They are currently in the semifinals of that prestigious competition and would be looking to make sure that things go their way when they meet Ajax. However, for now, Tottenham would have to beat a team who is fighting for their lives in the league. A loss here for Tottenham could need two teams to overtake them in the race for the top four. Brighton
Brighton is not free by any stretch of the imagination. Currently stuck in the relegation battle, they simply need to keep winning. There is a lot to lose and they would want to make sure that they find a way to gain some points in the league. They are currently in 17th points having gotten just 34 points from 34 matches. They are three points above Cardiff City who could draw level with them should they lose. However, they would take comfort from the fact that they have played one match less than Cardiff. However, that advantage is about to end. A win here today could all but save their season. A loss would make things so much more difficult for them.
Form
Tottenham have not had the best of form in recent weeks. They have managed to win three of their last six games. The remaining matches have ended in losses. In fact, they are currently on a two-match losing streak after losing twice to Manchester City in quick succession. They would be looking to make sure that they change all that when they get to meet Brighton later today.
Brighton, on the other hand, have absolutely nothing to talk about when it comes to their form. They have managed to win none of their last six games. The games have ended in five losses and a single draw. The draw, however, came in their last match and Brighton would be hoping that it represents a sign of better things to come at the end of the league.
The top four is one of the most important goals and Tottenham would be desperate to get it over the line.
