With the round 16 of the Europa league upon us, we will have to see if these two teams who are top in their groups will be able to provide us with an exciting match. Manchester United is sitting with 13 points in the first position in their own group. LASK is also sitting with 13 points in their own group.

This game is going to be a tough one because it is assumed that for a team to be top in your group, it means that they have done better than the rest, so it is impossible to write either of these two things off.

Head to Heads

These two teams will be meeting for the second time, and interestingly it is going to be the second time this year. They have played one game which happens to be the only head to head match.

The game ended in a 0-5 win in favor of Manchester United. It is quite easy to suggest that the same thing will happen again in this game, especially knowing that Manchester United would be the home team this time.

LASK would have to show more than their standing in their group. The fact that they have been able to top their own group could be a sign that they'd prove to be resilient against Man United. Looking at Manchester United's previous game records, especially in the Premier League, can we say that LASK will overturn the scoreline and shock everyone? Well, we'll have to wait for that on Wednesday.

Previous Games Records

Manchester United has done superbly well since June. They played almost every game without losing one until they met with Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final, where they lost the game with 1 - 3.

When it comes to goals, you can strongly count on Manchester United to always come through. They have been able to record at least one goal in all of their matches since June, including the one loss and the draws, and the way it looks, they'll not make an exception for LASK.

On the other hand, LASK hasn't been showing that they'll pose a threat against the Manchester United side. They have lost more games than they have won. As a matter of fact, they have an ongoing 4-match losing streak.

They would have to beat or at least draw this game with Manchester United to break it. Honestly, that looks almost impossible from where I sit. But then, it is football; anything can happen. Is Manchester United going to take this game with laxity and nonchalance? Is LASK going to be able to make a difference in their records? Well, it's just two days before we find out.

Prediction/Verdict

With Manchester United playing from home, we can say that they'll have the upper hand, because they also have the better team, so we'll plan the odds at 1.3 for Manchester United to win, 4.5 for LASK, and 3.5 for a draw which looks almost unlikely.

Well, may the better side win?
