The premier league is set to start in a few days and we are surely itching to go. Many teams would also want the new season to begin as fans would look forward to seeing the new players in action for their various teams. While this is the case, the need to build up the fitness levels of players cannot be overemphasized. Even if you are the best team in the world, if your players are not ready and fit for the new season, you would most likely be exhausted by the middle or towards the end of the season. With this in mind, many teams have gone to other countries to get the matches which they need for the new season. One of those matches would in the Premier League Asia Trophy. This is where Wolves and the champions Manchester City are set to clash in the finals of that competition.

Manchester City

The undefeated run of Manchester City continues emphatically. Going into the new season, they are still favorites for the title this season and they are always playing like on. When they come to the Hongkou stadium to play Wolves, they would no doubt see this as a match which they have to win. For them it seems, every match must be won even though it is friendly or not. Wolves though would want to win a trophy this season and would try not to go that easily.

Wolves

One of the dark horses in the premier league last season was Wolves. Often called the giant killer, they made it near impossible for the bigger teams to win them at home and this includes even Manchester City. Despite just getting promoted, they earned themselves a finish in the top half of the table and have not looked back since. Any other thing would be seen as disappointed than retaining their same position in the league next season. Playing Manchester City would help them to see just how much they have retained their form from last season. That form was the reason why many people were impressed by them.

Form

Speaking about form, Wolves have an excellent form by their standards. Four wins out of six. In these encounters, they have just lost once which was against Liverpool at Anfield. They would be comfortable with that loss as playing Liverpool at Anfield is as hard as it can get.

However, if they have confidence in their form, the form of Manchester City would make them look unplayable. With no loss in seven games, they are simply electric at the moment. Their last game against West Ham ended in a 4-0 thrashing and they would be looking to repeat the same feat when they meet here. They would, however, be sure and aware that playing Wolves is one of the hardest things that can be done in the premier league and they would have to be at their best to get the result that they want.
