Most of the big teams are right there in the mix to start with and the elimination process makes things a bit more fun. With Real Madrid coming from behind to inflict a fatal blow to Arsenal yesterday, the stage is set for the two teams from England Tottenham and Manchester United to struggle for the ticket to the next round. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is the ICC and things are getting interesting.
Manchester United
Manchester United are a team who have been in transit for a very long time. The truth is that they have never really moved on from the retirement of their best coach Alex Ferguson. However, with an old player now in charge, there are hopes that this team would be much better in terms of what they would be able to offer. While they keep getting better on the pitch, a lot of transfer movements are currently going on. It is set to be a season of change at Old Trafford. That change is believed to start with this game against Tottenham. Though it might just be a preseason game in the ICC, it can change their season and catapult them into glory.
Tottenham
Tottenham played well last season. They secured the champions league qualification they would so badly want and they also managed to reach the finals of the champions league. They are in the same boat which Liverpool was two years ago before they won the champions league. Tottenham would surely want to follow their footsteps. If they want that, they would surely need to start working from the very start. This game against Manchester United would be a good challenge to see just how far they are away from challenging the two-horse powers for the league and the champions league. With the right signings and motivations, they could just challenge for the title.
Form
The form of Tottenham before the season ended was not really at their peak, to say the least. However, having reached this stage of the competition, it can be said that their situation has considerably improved. They would want to keep that progress going and that would only happen when they win their game against Manchester United.
However, Manchester United would surely have something up their sleeve. For one thing, their form has visibly improved in recent times and more so since Ole became the new coach. With this, the confidence they would have even though just a preseason would be up to scratch. That would surely make this game a very lively one indeed.
The game against these two English giants is something which can be looked forward to. Just like Arsenal against Real Madrid, it could have all the drama that football wants and needs. That is the ultimate dream of all neutrals around the world. It will simply be epic and brilliant.
