On July 1, 2009, Karim Benzema landed at the Santiago Bernabéu to become a new Real Madrid player. The French attacker thus left his stage at Olympique de Lyon behind, to make history with the 'merengue' shirt.

Karim Benzema has been celebrating goals with Real Madrid for almost ten years. At 30 years old, Lyon has become a leading forward of the whole 'merengue', writing with his own handwriting a page in Madrid's history.

The Frenchman arrived in the 2009-10 season at the Santiago Bernabéu after 148 official matches played with the Olympique de Lyon shirt and 66 goals. Soon he became a fixture in the starting eleven of the white team, the '9' of Real Madrid.

Only one season took Benzema to convince managers, technicians and fans, a course that started for the French on August 29 and in which he scored nine goals and offered four assists in the 33 official meetings he played. Something that would change in the next course.

And is that in the 2010-11 season, Benzema began as lightning, being one of his best courses with the 'merengue' on his shoulders'. 26 goals came to celebrate the Gaul, in addition to offering five assists in 48 official meetings.

The best course of Karim would arrive a year later, when he was able to score 32 goals and offer 16 assists, all in 52 matches with the Madrid side. In 2012-13, he scored 20 goals and conceded 16 assists in 50 games.

One course later, in 52 games he scored two dozens and offered 15 assists. In the 14-15, 22 goals and 13 assists in 46 duels, while in the 15-16 were 28 goals and seven assitances in 36 games.

In the following season, he scored 19 goals and conceded nine assists in 48 games. Until, finally, in the 2017-18 campaign, he scored a dozen goals and ten goals, all of them spread over 47 games.

Karim Benzema wants to continue making history with Real Madrid, continue drilling the rival goal, continue granting wonderful assists, continue celebrating victories. Therefore, so far this year, the French has already ten goals and two assists in the 18 official games he has played with the elastic 'merengue'.

In total, 430 games, 202 goals and 97 assists as Real Madrid striker, figures that have served to become the longest '9', which has played more games and the most goalscorer in the history of the whole white team.
