There are a few good candidates for the role and one that stands out above the rest.

So, let's talk about who I believe is the best manager for the job and that is current Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino. People will argue that he has never won anything but this a moot point. He has built a team at Spurs by promoting youth, Playing attacking entertaining football and he has a net spend of +£30 Million. So, when you look at every other team in the top 6 who have a net spend of at least - £100 Million you start to see what an amazing job he has done. He has also gone out and bought youth from the lower leagues and the best example of this is Deli Alli who is one of the best midfielders in the EPL, not quite world class but I’m sure it won’t be long before people start talking about him and comparing him with Silva, KDB and Eriksen.

Everything about Pochettino is a perfect fit for how I and many other United fans see us playing and developing going forward.

The next manager people are talking about is Zidane. Now let’s not take away anything of what he achieved at Madrid but managing the current United team and the team he had at Madrid are two very different squads. What he did with Madrid winning three Champion Leagues and one La Liga in two and half years is an amazing achievement. But, he knew that Madrid team inside out before he took over. He was the Castilla manager for a year or two before he became the DOF (or similar role). He then replaced Mourinho and was able to manage a team he had a hand in putting together. This United team and bored is so fractured that I don’t think he will be able to achieve anything near what he has achieved with them. Oh, and he had the worlds best sticker in Ronaldo scoring goals for fun. You only have to look at the current Madrid team and lack of goals to see how amazing and how easy he is able to find the back of the net.

The next name that is getting mentioned is Jardim, now what he achieved at Monaco is truly amazing. Not only did he build a team that completely consisted of young players he managed to win the league with them play free-flowing attacking football. It all went a little wrong at the end though, but I don’t think you can put this down to him as you only have to look at the players that were sold. Mbappe, Martial, Silva, Lemar, Mendy and Bakayoko. All of these players were sold, and you will never be able to replace the quality of all these players so a struggle was always on the cards.

My second choice after Pochettino would be Tuchel. There could be more of a case for Thomas Tuchel than a lot of people think. PSG only gave him a 2 year contract, he'll only have a year left at the end of this season, if he doesn't do so well in the CL I wonder what PSG will do, his excellent football is undeniable, but with previous flirting from PSG I wonder if they make take a pop on Mourinho at the end of the season, it will be an interesting situation to keep an eye on at the end of the season, because if they don't give him a new contract we might be able to get him. In fact, he'd probably be easier than Pochettino to get.
