It was Another bad day for the "NEVER WALK ALONE" Team. Record that have been kept for a while now have been broken by a team far below them. Liverpool squad seems to be very tired because it unusual of them not to have produce a single goal in four(4) matches now
Liverpool came into that match occupying fourth(4th) position with 34 points in 18 games while Burnley on the hand came into the game occupying 17th position with 16 points in 17 games. With the 68 game unbeaten at anfield record for the Liverpool team must have given the team the confidence of winning the game but the unexpected happened. Despite Liverpool dominating possession, they were far from been their best. The attack was poor, Arnold who was heavily praised last season had a very poor performance; The dreadful attackers became toothless; no solid chance was created. Burnley really contained them and made them run out of ideas
Burnley really did well in the defense and tried in their counter attack which really paid off when Barnes was fouled by the Liverpool goalkeeper Allison in 81st minute of the game; It was no doubt a penalty and it was easily finished by the same man who got the penalty Barnes. That must be heart breaking for the coach, players and fans as well. Their hope of wining the match is gone, they could only pray and hope for an equalizer but they couldn't get back to the game
Liverpool is really far from the way they were last season and two seasons ago. Is it as a result of fatigue or the players are no longer motivated? With the way the team performance is going, I don't think they will even make top four this season
