My favorite team is "Rayados de Monterrey"

25 years ago my father took me for the first time to the Tecnológico field, since then I did not stop going to the stadium with him for 25 years. Now that I am away from home is what I miss most in the world and writing about my team helps me to remember all those moments that I lived.

My father and I in the new Rayados Stadium

They were 25 years with more sorrows than glories, just 3 Liga MX championships, 3 CONCACAF Champions League and one MX Cup was the trophies that the Club managed to lift during that time. Undoubtedly the best result in the Club history was en 2012 when we become 3rts in the FIFA World Cup for Clubes.

But beyond the moments of joy, the important thing to support a team is to be with them in the good times and in the bad ones, at first I did not realize it but after the first 10 years, I understood that going to the stadium with my dad meant more that just see the Rayados. It meant spending quality father and son time, just enjoying the game.

There were many players, hundreds, maybe thousands, who wore the T-shirt of the Gang, the majority of medium quality. Others extraordinary and others very, very bad. The best player in history who has worn the shirt of Monterrey without a doubt is Eusebio the Portuguese.

The move

The Tecnológico Stadium was an old stadium, with Olympic track and a kind of magic in the environment had a capacity for 30 thousand fans and every Saturday that played Monterrey was full in his capacity. The owners of the Club began to realize that the stadium was too small for the team and that is why they decided to make a new stadium at BBVA Bancomer.

The new stadium of Rayados de Monterrey will be the home of the 2026 World Cup where Mexico along with the United States and Canada will host the World Cup.

I've been living in London for a few months, now I wake up in the early hours of the morning to watch the games of my Rayados. I never miss the games. I miss going to the stadium with my dad, but I will never stop following the team.
