The well-known Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro today celebrates his 40th birthday. Werder Bremen's striker, who was born on 3 October 1978, is currently the oldest player in the German Bundesliga.

Pizarro debuted at Werder in 1999 and this is already his fifth spell at the club. In between, the forward also played for Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

In Bundesliga, the South American has played 450 matches and scored 192 goals, which are both the all-time records for foreign players in the German top division.
