This Thursday we will be seeing actions around Europe as the UEFA Nations league returns back to action. Teams continue their quest for who becomes Europe champion, the action is more tensed now as we enter the fifth and sixth round. Let's see who makes it to the December 3rd draws for the 2019 semifinals. It's been a bumpy journey for some and the shocking part is how 2014 world cup champions Germany have since managed just a point after three games. The action continues this week.

read on as we take a critical look at group A and B performance so far.

League A

Group A1: Germany, France, Netherlands

Current world cup winners France are up and flying in this group, winning their last two fixtures, after a goalless draw in their first game against Germany, Didier Deschamps' men seats at the top of the group and with their last game coming up against the oranje boys in Rotterdam on Friday. France will be needing just a draw to cement their place at the top. The Netherlands seems to be coming back alive, when they shocked Germany with a 3:0 win at home, however France remain their only threat. The Netherlands will have to win their remaining the games to snatch top spot France. Meanwhile Germany hopes hangs on the edge, they have to win their game against Netherlands with hope that the oranje boys do not take all three points against France.

NEXT FIXTURES: Netherlands v France, Germany v Netherlands

Group A2: Belgium, Switzerland, Iceland

We will be seeing a tricky fixture when Switzerland takes on Belgium, this promises to be an interesting game as the reds only hopes of qualifying is to beat a relentless Belgium side 2 nil. Belgium on the other hand who needs at least four points from their remaining two fixtures to qualify. Iceland are already relegated after they suffered a 2:1 loss against the Reds in October

NEXT FIXTURES: Belgium v Iceland, Switzerland v Belgium

Group A3: Portugal, Italy, Poland

This group is as good as done. With two games left for Portugal, things look more easy for them as they won their first two games and will be needing just a point to qualify, that wouldn’t be much of a task for them when they face the Azzurri. Italy have not won any game at home in their last five home matches and Roberto Mancini will be looking to pull off a surprise package for the Portuguese. Italy will have to defeat Portugal and hope also hope the Portuguese do not win at Poland for any chance of qualifying. Poland has been confirmed relegated since their one goal loss against Italy in October.

NEXT FIXTURES: Italy v Portugal, Portugal v Poland

Group A4: Spain, England, Croatia

For me this group has been really interesting, first Spain were stunned buy a 3:2 lost at home against England and next it was Spain smashing the world cup runner up with a humiliating 6:0 and again England trailed to a 2:1 loss to Spain.

This is how each team wants it to play out.

England will seal a place as finalists if Spain fail to beat Croatia and England then win their final game.

Croatia will seal a place as finalists if they win both November games.

Spain will seal a place as finalists with victory over Croatia.

NEXT FIXTURES: Croatia v Spain, England v Croatia

League B

Group B1: Slovakia, Ukraine, Czech Republic

The group leaders Ukraine are out of reach from either of the other teams, winning three out of three games. But more attentions lie between the other two, Czech will be hoping to avoid relegation with a least a draw when they face Slovakia whom faces automatic relegation if they fail to win any game in the next fixtures.

NEXT FIXTURES: Slovakia v Ukraine, Czech Republic v Slovakia

Group B2: Russia, Sweden, Turkey

Exciting fixtures in this group, Russia has failed to win have been unbeaten in their last six games while Sweden has not won any of their last five matches. Russia stands in good position and with just a point in their last game against Sweden, it’s going to be a tug war of war to as the group will end. Turkey gets eliminated if they lose to Sweden. Interesting if Sweden manages to win their remaining November games they get promoted and will get relegated if they fail to win any of the last game or loose to turkey.

NEXT FIXTURES: Turkey v Sweden, Sweden v Russia

Group B3: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be looking to finish as group leaders with just a point needed from their encounter against Austrian who can still qualify if there can win their last two matches and still have a leading head to head against Bosnia. Meanwhile norther Ireland are already relegated and don’t have much to fight for in their last game.

NEXT FIXTURES: Austria v Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland v Austria

Group B4: Wales, Republic of Ireland, Denmark

Wales face a tough task when they face Denmark in their final group game and a win would secure them qualification. Ireland have a twist in the chances of avoiding relegation, they have to hope on wales beating Denmark and also beating them in Aarhus.

NEXT FIXTURES: wales v Denmark, Denmark v Ireland
