The tournament for the European Championship until the age of 21 entered a decisive phase. In the earlier semi-finals, the competition for a place in the finals began with Germany and Romania. The meeting of the two most effective teams of the group stage had to arouse great emotions.

Germany (21' Amiri 51' Waldschmidt) 1:2 (27' 44' Puscas) Romania

Today, the biggest enemy of the players was the weather, because the temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius. The players of both teams from the first minutes did not resemble at all the players we had the pleasure to watch in the group competition. They looked sluggish and didn't create many dangerous opportunities. Stefan Kuntz's charges stayed with the ball for a very long time, but it did not result in much. The breakthrough came in the 21st minute, when Nadiem Amiri crossed half the field with the ball and with a strong shot defeated the rivals goalkeeper. This action can be called "One Man Show".

The irritated Romanians immediately set off to make up for their losses. Just three minutes after losing the goal, George Puscas hit the post and a dozen or so seconds later scored a goal. Romania's striker took advantage of the penalty kick and the competition started again. Until the end of the first half of the year, the company and The Hague looked much better than our western neighbours. They have definitely taken the initiative and created many more dangerous situations. The culmination of their good game was to take the lead just before the break. Instant counterattack ended with a shot of George Puscas' head, thus scoring his second goal in this game. The defenders of the title were dominated and the Romanians were driven by each successive action. The result made the other half look very interesting.

The fans watching this game had no right to be bored. Already in the 51st minute, it was 2:2 with Luca Waldschmidt. The leader of the classification of the shooters did not make a mistake with the penalty shootout and the Germans returned to the game. This time the Romanians didn't start to make up for their losses as madly as they did at 1:0. Our western neighbors played more responsibly and didn't allow for quick counter-attacks. As time elapsed, instead of attacks from both sides, we saw long-term exchanges of applications in the centre of the field. The attitude of the players of both teams indicated that we are in for overtime.

He wasn't going to play Luca Waldschmidt for another 30 minutes. In the last minute of regular time the game resolved the fate of this match, scored a goal of 3:2. Amiri perfectly staged the football, and Freiburg's striker with a powerful blow from the left leg defeated the goalkeeper rivals. The Romanians were helpless and frustrated. The last blow was struck in 94th minute by Nadiem Amiri, who scored a beautiful free kick goal.

Romanians may feel unsatisfied, because in the end of the first half they had a lot of opportunities to increase the lead. After a break they unnecessarily went back on the defensive, thus giving the Germans an opportunity to show off. Our western neighbors will stand before the defense of the title on Sunday.
