In the last match of the 36th round of Ligue 1 the teams from the top of the table had to face each other. Olympique Lyon, third place, came to Marseille. Depay and the company want to be in the Champions League at all costs for the future campaign and do not intend to leave the Top 3. Behind their backs lurks Saint-Etienne with only two eyes lost. There are only two queues left before the end of the season and at this point each point is worth its weight in gold.

Squads:

Olympique Marseille: Mandanda- Amavi, Kamara, Caleta Car, Sakai- Gustavo, Lopez, Ocampos (71' Germain), Radonjic (46' Thauvin), Strootman- Balotelli (78' Payet)

Olympique Lyon: Lopes- Mendy, Morel, Marcelo, Dubois (82' da Silva)- Aouar, Ndombele, Terrier (83' Tousart), Fekir (75' Dembele), Cornet- Depay

From the very beginning the competition was very balanced and the match was on a high level. Every now and then the ball moved from one penalty area to another. Both teams had someone to frighten on the offensive. We didn't have to wait long for the first goal, because 25 minutes after the first whistle, Maxwel Cornet put a football match in the goal. There was a lot of luck and coincidence in this action. Before the ball hit the legs of a 22-year-old, it had previously bounced off one of the hosts' defenders. Eventually, however, she throbbed in the net and the guests took the lead.

Marseille's players tried to respond quickly, but directing long passes to Mario Balotelli wasn't the best way to get through the rivals' defense. The Italian striker looked very distracted today, but in his case such behaviour should not surprise anyone. He received the yellow card quite early and had to watch his back if he didn't want to get fired.

In the end of the first half we watched an individual rally with a ball by Memphis Depay, who passed his rivals like poles, but eventually hit them wrong. During the two counted minutes nothing interesting happened anymore and I was hoping that the hosts would show up better after the break.

At the beginning of the second part of the match Maxwel Cornet had a great opportunity to score another goal. However, his hit from the area around the penal field defended the host goalkeeper. Literally a minute later Balotelli was able to even out the competition. He got the ball right on his head and shot him badly. There was a lot of situation on both sides, but in key moments the effectiveness failed.

The players of Marseille were clearly frustrated when, after 14 shots, none of them ended in a goal. His negative emotions in the 67th minute he decided to unload Duje Caleta Car. He attacked one of his rivals, who was in a situation alone with the goalkeeper, and the referee sent him to the locker room after this game. The hosts were aware of the fact that playing in weakness, bringing about a draw would be a miracle.

Until the end of the game, Lyon's players controlled the field events. Six minutes before the end of the regulation time Moussa Dembele decided the fate of this competition, increasing the lead. Two minutes later we already had 0:3 because of the first goal scorer in this match. This time Maxwel Cornet showed off with a rally in the style of Leo Messie. Sam rushed with the ball to the goal, passed a few rivals, put the goalkeeper and sent the football to an empty goal.

The fantastic ending by Bruno Genesio's charges sealed their victory in today's match. They have 66 points in two rounds before the end of the season and if there is no catastrophe, they can be calm about 3rd place. You can see they liked it in the Champions League.
