Having officially announced his suspension of his career on May 7, he was appointed as an AV coach three days later and immediately entered the leadership line. Born in 1980, Terry is 39 years old this year in Korean age. Terry, who had made his debut as an adult in October 1998 at the age of 17, took on a new challenge, ending his career exactly 20 years ago.
As a player, Terry was Chelsea itself. Though he was from West Ham United Youth, he made his professional debut in Chelsea and played 18 seasons in Chelsea alone until last year, except for short leases at Nottingham Forest in the second division. Terry's presence in Chelsea, which had been famous for many foreign players since the time before the Abramovich era, was certainly different from the team. So it was a very fitting tribute for Chelsea to honor Terry's achievement of number '26' in the 26th minute of the first half in his 717th Chelsea game, which was his farewell match.
After leaving Chelsea after the 2016/17 season, he signed a one-year contract with the second-tier AV club last season and led the team in defense with his captain armband. With Terry's experience in it, AV succeeded in advancing to the playoffs to return to the EPL, but failed to promote itself. Terry, who wanted to continue his career this season, made contact with various teams even after signing a contract with AV. Although he did not have a chance to advance to other countries, he decided to end his career as a player, and he will announce it on the 7th. His coaching career at AV has ended.
